In this page, we'll go over some of the basics mechanics and how to choose your gear effectively.

How to choose your weapons in Greedfall

In Greedfall you can choose up to two melee weapons and a gun. Your melee weapons can complement each other. For instance, you could have a weapon that quickly tears down armour. In fact, you could craft and customise these weapons with upgrades to its armour damage. Since you already have the ability to tear down enemy armour, your other weapon should have physical damage. Let's see how this would work:

First Weapon: Upgraded to increase armour damage.

Second Weapon: Upgraded to increase physical damage.

This is a pretty good basic combination. Do note that some types of weapons are inherently better at destroying armour, while others are better at dealing raw damage. For example, blunt weapons are better at destroying armour than sharp weapons, but sharp weapons deal more raw damage. This means you can make your first weapon a blunt weapon, upgraded specifically to deal armour damage, whilst your second weapon deals physical damage.

How to choose your armour in Greedfall

To learn how to choose your armour, first, you must understand how crafting works. Go to a workbench and you'll be able to upgrade any piece of armour that has a crafting socket.

Chest Armour Crafting

Chest Armour has one very important crafting socket and that's the Strap. The Strap socket allows you to gain an Attribute. You can choose Vigor, Science or Lockpicking. Definitely choose Vigor for your fighting gear. You can have more gear that you only use when you need it.

The Breastplate and Shoulders socket both offer Armour and Balance. Armour is just the amount of damage your armour can block. Balance is what you'd expect, balance. When enemies attack you with strong attacks, the Balance Stat will help you remain standing and you will not get stunned as often. This is very helpful during fights, but of course, armour is also important so you will have to find a balance (no pun intended).

Hands & Legs Armour Crafting

Hands & Legs armour can offer either Armour or Balance. If you need a refresher: Armour is the raw physical damage the armour can withstand and Balance gives you protection against Stuns and Knockdowns. It's easy to ignore Balance altogether, but a high Balance stat can make you unstoppable during fights, especially if you have high HP and/or can cure quickly.

An even better use of Balance is to combine it with your companions. Some companions like Siora will heal you in the middle of a battle, so if you're in the centre of the battle, Siora will have more chances of healing you while you fight and if your balance is high enough, all you have to do is smash the attack key while Siora heals you.

Firearms

You can improve your gun's Fury Generation, Physical Damage or Stun. And most guns only have one socket, which one you choose will be up to you, but the one I've found most useful is the Stun stat. I often use guns to disrupt an enemy's attack.

If you have a gun with a quick Rate of Fire, you can easily counterattack an enemy with it and the longer the stun the longer the time you'll be able to fight others without being interrupted.

It is a side-scrolling platformer that is a spiritual successor to the Wonder Boy series, opting to change the name because Sega owns the rights to it. The game was originally supposed to be a sequel to Flying Hamster, a game developed by Game Atelier, the developer of Monster Boy, in 2010. Flying Hamster II was on Kickstarter, but it was cancelled due to the involvement of FDG Entertainment, who eventually turned it into the Monster Boy game.
