The future of Rebel Basketball appears bright, as the South Burlington Mini-Metro teams capped strong seasons with outstanding.

The Mount Mansfield Youth Basketball League (MMYBL) is a nonprofit organization which was formed to provide a safe, fun way for local girls and boys to learn the game of basketball. The league provides kids with the opportunity to learn their skills through participation in games as well as practices.
The league serves all of the communities in the Chittenden East school district.
MMYBL is divided into two distinct elements; Recreational League and Mini-Metro.
Rec League -- The Rec League is open to everyone in grades 1-8, regardless of skill level or prior experience. The goal of this league is to teach the fundamentals of the game and to have fun while getting on-court game experience. Rec League's season runs from Mid-November to Mid-February and oberservs Holidays for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years in which the league will have no practices or games scheduled.

Grades 1 – 2 play and on Saturdays only at Jericho Elementary, and beginning with the 2019-2020 season will play in a 3-v-3 half-court format to better teach and reinforce the fundamentals for young players. All players receive equal playing time, regardless of skill level.

Dead zed 2 hacked all guns. Teams in grades 3 - 8 practice one evening each week and play against other MMYBL Rec League teams on Saturdays.

Grades 3-4:play 5-v-5 full court games with 4 quarters of play at ether CHMS or BRMS. Fouls and Rules infractions are enforced progressively throughout the season as determined by coaches.

Mini Metro Basketball

Grades 5-8: Play 5-v-5 full court games with 4 quarters of play at ether CHMS or BRMS. Fouls and Rules infractions are enforced progressively throughout the season as determined by coaches. Players in 5-8 also will participate in Champlain Valley Recreation Association (CVRA) games against other town rec programs beginning in December through to February.


Mini Metro

For boys and girls in grades 5-8

The Mini-Metro program is a competitive, traveling team, league with other school district based teams from throughout Vermont and is administered by the VT CATS AAU Club. Mini-Metro games are typically played at BFA-St. Albans, Burlington High School, Essex High School, MMU, CVU, Montpelier High School and Spaulding High School. These games are officiated by paid referees and follow the National Federation of High School (NFHS) rules.
Players must attend a tryout with their Mini-Metro coach and teammates in order to to make the team; coaches are allowed to make cuts based on skill level, maturity, and coachability of the players that attend the tryouts. Players that do not make mini-metro are HIGHLY encouraged to play in the Rec League in order to further develop their skills and continue to foster their love of the game.
Mini-Metro Players are expected to attend all practices and all games, including “away” games.
Practices are held twice a week. Usually in early evenings. Games are on Sundays between 11:00 and 4:00.
